From Clay to Canvas

Hi! After nearly three decades creating and selling ceramics -mostly at wholesale prices-my hands have finally told me it's time to stop. I've been a working ceramic artist for over 29 years, shaping, glazing, and firing with love and devotion, especially when creating new designs. But the physical demands have caught up with me, and continuing that work has become to painful.

So, now, after raising three sons and welcomed 5 grandchildren, I'm beginning something new as my main source of income.

I live alone and have supported myself through only art for the past 18 years. That hasn't change- but how I make art is changing. I'm shifting my creative energy into collage painting but mostly digital art; designing adult coloring books, calendars, greeting cards, children's book illustrations and fabric patterns. Also I am developing two books: one is an ABC Children Book with 26 designs of Animals and letters I designed and another one with 101 fabric projects using the fabric panels I sell with my art. All those projects require a lot of time and focus and now is the time to work on them. This transition is both exciting and necessary but also a little scary.

That's where Patreon comes in.

If you have enjoyed my ceramic and mixed media art over the years, or if you're just discovering my art, I invite you to walk with me into this new path. Your kind support here will help me:

-Cover basic living expenses while I rebuild this new body of work

-Invest in tools, courses and time to create thoughtful, joyful digital art

-Stay connected to the creative community I've been part of for so long

-Keep making and sharing art that inspires calm, joy, peace, creativity and connection

I'll be posting behind the scenes sketches, work-in-process images, printable downloads and eventually exclusive digital collections for patrons. If you choose to support me, wether at $5 or $30, know that it truly makes a difference.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for valuing handmade, heartfelt work. And thank you for helping me keep creating.

With gratitude,

Elizabeth Claire
