It is finally here, the Mask Tutorial to make your mask with my fabric designs. The front fabric panel with my design will be sold through my Etsy Store. With the fabric panel you can make a variety of masks or a make up bag or any other idea you may have. I am sharing a tutorial to make the mask I like most. At the end of the post you will find a few videos with more mask tutorials. Choose the one that fits better on you and use my fabric to make your very own cloth mask. . The PDF tutorial will be sent to anyone buying the fabric panels for masks or pouches but as a special gift for my readers I am including it in this post and in the tutorial's section of my web page.

I want to make clear that cloth masks are not N95 or a surgical mask but adding the non-woven interfacing I am using and makes it a lot safer than those of cloth only. Also, you can leave an opening in the bottom or follow the instructions on a video I am sharing at the end of the post to add a piece of filter if you want to make it safer. I have individual filters that I use inside the mask when I know I have to deal with a situation where I could be more exposed to the virus. I do this only when taking care of someone that does not want to wear a mask. Still, I try to stay in a safe distance as much as possible.

I am sharing a few of the rectangular fabric panels available on my Etsy shop now.

-The first one is one that I love. It is a very happy one. I love alpacas and the way the look on this mask. The process of creating the pattern is something that I enjoy so much. It is nice to share something that I created with much passion. You can link the mask to the fabric panel on the store.

-The next one was a fun one to create. I made each one of the butterflies with papers that I paint and use for collage. Each one is a collage. Later, I combined all of them in a beautiful pattern to enjoy. It looks gorgeous in a mask as well as in a make up bag.

You can also make a bag the one below. If you want to have the same fabric in both sides you may buy two panels of the same fabric.

-The third fabric design was created using just one of the butterflies collage. You can see the previous design and find the orange butterfly. It is a bright butterfly in a simple but beautiful pattern.

This butterfly is also available in a pillow cover (as shown in image below) and it looks really beautiful. I can't express the joy a feel whenever I see my art on a product and knowing it made someone smile makes me very happy.

Check my Etsy Shop for more fabric panels and other products.

I am sharing a few interesting tutorials about masks and mask's materials that I found on YouTube. They are a great help when deciding the mask you want to make and the materials you want to use.

VIDEO NUMBER 1: If you want to add a nose wire and or a filter pocket to the mask follow instructions on the next video. Substitute the flannel fabric on this video with the non-woven interfacing (cut it smaller so you don't have too many layers when adding the top stitch with the elastic). In the PDF tutorial the mask includes one layer for the back, you can add another layer like the video below but you can do the same using only one back layer. Also, you can browse a tutorial to add the nose wire after the mask is finished.

VIDEO NUMBER 2: This tutorial is very unique and interesting and you can use the materials included on the kit I sell.

VIDEO NUMBER 3: This next video has a lot of information on materials and it helped me when deciding which materials to choose.

I hope you enjoyed the post and you are ready to make your very own mask. I love DIY and all sort of crafts since I was very young and having the opportunity to share tutorials for DIY projects with you you is a dream come true.

Stay Safe!

From my heart,

Elizabeth Claire
