I started this series of Tuesday Crafts thinking that I could finally have a planned scheduled for everything I want or need to do to grow my artsy business. I have to admit that I failed, BIG fail. In the past weeks and through my son, the one who came in between the oldest and the youngest, the lawyer, the musician, I learned that we MUST embrace what is called a BIG FAIL. Can you believe that? I am not going to write today about the meaning and the importance of embracing a BIG Fail because I am still learning about the theme, which by the way my son learned about it from a video interview to Kobe Bryant, and I am way far to be an expert on the theme. The only thing I can say is that acknowledging and understanding that Big Fail is not the end of the world and loving ourselves enough to forgive us for failing is the right path. What I practice in order to get out of the negative feelings when i see that I failed is doing things that I love which include crafts or creating new art but mostly I feel great learning new things or learning how to improve what I already do. Since my business is related to my art anything I learn in the field is part of the business.
I think I mentioned in a previews post about DOMESTIKA.ORG and how it has affected my life in a very positive way. I feel that my world has expanded getting to know lots of new artists sharing their talents and also getting to know the artists that inspired them I feel more alive than ever and most of all my creativity found its way back. It is a bit difficult for me to explain the feelings or the process but learning new stitches, new ways of making and painting ceramic pieces, new ways to create my illustrations and getting to know artists from all over the world made me realize that I am entering a new path in my creative journey. A big door has opened in front of me and everything is connected. I don't receive any money from DOMESTIKA but I really wanted to shout out how cool it is.
I want to share a few things I made, some of them are projects or practices for the classes and other are pending projects on my To Do List.
The first one is for a class practicing different non flat stitches.

2. This one is for another class where I learned new stitches and how to transfer an image to the fabric where I plan to make the embroider. The lady is young Grace Kelly.

3. I made the cute dolls with the help of my friend Marie. One of them is for my oldest sister and the other two are for the granddaughters of two friends. For Christmas we made four of these for our granddaughters.

I also enrolled in a few ceramic classes to learn different ways of using the clay and painting ceramics with no raw oxides involved. The mug and the fish plate were made to practice some techniques for a class. I am planning of making a few more mugs because I a huge fan of mugs.

As you can see I have been very busy. Also I am beginning to add videos to my YouTube Channel. My goal is to add a video weekly with tutorials mostly teaching ceramic. As soon as I have new videos I will notify all of you that are subscribed to this blog.
Last but not least I am learning to transform my art in embroidery patterns including cross stitch. I am super excited with this new project. It will take some time to add them on my shop because each new design has to be fully embroidered before I can sell the design.
If you like embroidery I am giving my first "practice design" for free in a PDF. It includes the image of the design fully embroider. You can use any stitch you want. I am still learning the name of the new stitches but mostly I used the stitches I already knew like the satin stitch, the back stitch and the french knot. Below you can find the embroidered Cat Image and then the downloadable file as a gift for you.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please Stay Safe,
From my heart,
Elizabeth Claire
